Airbus A350-1000 lands in Brazil for the first time

Yesterday, Qatar Airways deployed one of its Airbus A350-1000s on its Doha to Sao Paulo route, marking the type's Brazilian debut. The aircraft, registered A7-ANJ, replaced the usual 777-200LR which normally operates the service three times a week.

Qatar Airways has since confirmed that it will be deploying the Airbus A350-1000 to Brazil on a regular basis. As of next month, Qatar Airways will offer four weekly flights to Sao Paulo, using a mix of Boeing 777-200s and Airbus A350-1000s.

From July, however, the Airbus A350-1000 will be deployed on all four weekly frequencies. As demand begins to pick up after having plummeted as a result of the coronavirus crisis, service will be increased to five times a week - all operated by the Airbus A350-1000.

Qatar Airways received its first Airbus A350-1000 in February 2018 and has since grown its fleet of the Airbus aircraft to 17 planes. Qatar Airways operates both the Airbus A350-900 and -1000 variants, the latter of which has a fuselage that is 7 metres longer. In Qatar Airways' configuration, the aircraft offers 327 seats.

The aircraft will also be deployed on services to Amsterdam, Chicago, London, Sydney and Tokyo from Doha.
