Delta’s first A330-900Neo made its maiden sortie bearing its signature Delta livery above Southern France.
Delta is the only US carrier with orders for 35 A330-900Neos. The first aircraft is expected to delivered later this spring.
Delta has configured its A330-900neo with 281 seats with all four branded seat products - 168 economy seats, 56 extra-legroom economy seats ( Delta Comfort+ ), 28 Premium economy seats ( Delta Premium Select ) and 29 Business class suites ( Delta One suites ).
The aircraft will also offer in-seat power ports, LED ambient lighting, spacious overhead cabins and foam cushions for added comfort. A new wireless IFE system from Delta flight products will offer thousands of hours of complimentary entertainment via seat back entertainment screens. High speed internet connectivity, including free mobile messaging through iMessage, WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger is also available on board.
The A330-900neo aircraft reduces the travel carbon footprint, with increased fuel efficiency per seat of more than 20 percent when compared with previous generation A330 aicraft.
The airline has planned to debut the aircraft on the Seattle Tacoma - Shanghai Pudong route in July.
