Binter Canarias Takes Delivery of First E195-E2

On November 21, Binter Canarias, a Spanish regional airline, received their first Embraer E195-E2 during a ceremony at Embraer’s main facility in São José dos Campos, Brazil. The airline is the first European customer to receive the largest variant of the E-Jet E2 family jet series. Binter has 5 firm orders for the E195-E2 aircraft.

John Slattery, President & CEO of Embraer Commercial Aviation said: “We’re extremely proud to deliver the first E195-E2 in Europe to such an accomplished regional airline. Binter will showcase the very best of the airplane as it expands its network to more cities."

The order of E195-E2 aircraft is part of Binter’s fleet modernization plan. The aircraft is configured with 132 seats in a one class layout. Compared to the last generation Embraer E195 the new E2 variant features new ultra-high bypass ratio engines, new wing, full fly-by-wire controls and new landing gear. About 75% of the aircraft's systems are new. Also E195-E2 features additional 3 seat rows compared to last generation. The cabin can be configured with 120 seats in a two class configuration and 146 seats in a single class layout.

Binter Canarias is a Spanish airline based in Gran Canaria airport, Spain. The airline’s operations are based around regional services within the Canary Islands. Last year Binter carried 3.6 million passengers.
