Etihad has become the latest carrier to join the Worldwide platform offered by EasyJet. According to EasyJet, this is a platform by which a customer is able to connect around the world and across Europe "in one handy place with a quick and easy transfer" through its self-connection hubs. This therefore offers direct flights to new locations and the passengers are subject to minimum connection times. If passengers miss their connecting flight, they are transferred to the next available service operated by partner airlines.
EasyJet launched the Worldwide programme in 2017 and since then it has among others, partnered with Corsair, Loganair, Singapore Airlines, Air Transat, Virgin Atlantic, Emirates, and Cathay Pacific. This new partnership with Etihad means that customers can now purchase tickets through EasyJet’s website through the Worldwide platform, connecting the two airlines’ networks and opening new possibilities for travel between EasyJet's European network, the ten European airports served by Etihad, and Abu Dhabi.
