Emirates ready to welcome passengers

Dubai based flag carrier, Emirates, is ready to welcome passengers back to the Emirate of Dubai and the wider United Arab Emirates(UAE). In the upcoming days, the airline will resume flight to New Zealand, Lebanon, Belgium, and Vietnam. This comes as travel protocols for UAE citizens, residents, and visitors will be eased for international travel, which will effectively open the economy from July 7, 2020.

This news comes as Emirates not only adds additional routes to its network but also increasing the frequency on existing routes despite the impacts of the pandemic. New York’s JFK, Hong Kong, Madrid, Paris, London’s Heathrow, Singapore are among cities that will see an increase in frequency for July. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and CEO of Emirates said, “The next few weeks will be a big test for the whole aviation industry in many ways. At Emirates we see a positive trend of traffic building up across our network over the past weeks, and we are ready to serve our customers.”

However, Emirates is reminding all travelers and visitors that many parts of the world still have restrictions in place due to the ongoing pandemic. Thus travelers will only be permitted to fly once they qualify all the requirements of their destination. Emirates is putting into place measures to ensure the safety of its passengers and its crew. At no additional charge to passengers, the airline will hand out essential travel hygiene kits, which will provide antibacterial wipes hand sanitizer, masks, and more.

The Chairman went on to thank the leaders of the area for their initiative to reopen the economy showing “their vision for Dubai as a world leader in business and tourism.”

“This is a strong affirmation of Dubai’s readiness to resume aviation and economic activity after comprehensive planning, review, and preparation. We are confident that the multi-layered measures that have been put in place in the air, on the ground, and throughout our city, enables us to mitigate risks of infection spread and manage any required response effectively. We believe that cities around the world are conducting ongoing reviews and will soon follow suit to update their border entry requirements for the international traveler.”
