GE Capital Aviation Services or GECAS, an Irish-American aviation financing and leasing company, has announced that they will take on 11 more Boeing 737-800BCFs. These 11 aircraft were previously options for the type. The company has also decided to add nine additional aircraft options to its books.

GECAS also announced that its order books now total 74 aircraft, 60 of which are firm orders and 14 are options.
“We are very pleased to expand our orderbook for the 737-800BCF with Boeing,” the versatility and reliability of these freighters is appealing to our air cargo customers, not to mention the greater efficiency, lower operational costs and better environmental credentials for the growing express and E commerce cargo market,” said Richard Greener, Senior Vice President and Manager of GECAS Cargo.

GECAS is renowned for providing great freighter solutions and this order is another testament to the 737-800BCF’s ability to extend the life of an airplane and help cargo carriers reduce operating costs.”
In other news from GECAS, they have announced a partnership with Russian airline S7 for two Boeing 737-800BCFs. These will mark the first dedicated freighter aircraft for the airline. Expected to be delivered in November 2020 and January 2021, the two dedicated freighter aircraft will fly short and medium haul routes.
