Bahrain-based Gulf Air has announced that it was resuming services to a select number of destinations for transit operations only following newly-issued regulations by the Bahrain Civil Aviation Authority.
The carrier will offer a limited service to London, Frankfurt, Paris and Manila. This will allow European passengers to connect to Manila.
“In compliance with the new regulations issued by the Bahrain Civil Aviation Authority, we are welcoming back transit passengers through Bahrain International Airport, arrival into Bahrain remains restricted to nationals and residents,” the airline said.
Aviation operations in the Middle East region are beginning to resume. Emirates announced last week that it would resume flights to London Heathrow, Frankfurt, Paris, Zurich and Brussels effective today. Likewise, Etihad Airways announced it’s intention to fly repatriation flights to Melbourne, Singapore, Manila, Jakarta and Amsterdam from 5 April.
