Qantas A330 Hydraulic Fluid Leak

On December 15th 2019, a Qantas Airbus A330-200 from Sydney to Perth was on the climb when the crew received an indication of a hydraulic leak and stopped the climb, deciding to return to Sydney for a safe landing. After landing and while being towed to the apron, smoke began to reduce visibility in the cabin and passengers began to complain about itchy throats and sore eyes. Passengers described a pungent odour developing on board before the aircraft was evacuated. Two passengers were taken to hospital with injuries received during the evacuation. Preliminary investigations pointed to the possibility of hydraulic fluid having entered the aircraft's air conditioning systems.
