Dallas, Texas based boutique airline, JSX Air, yesterday announced it would launch its first scheduled charter route to the East Coast of the USA with a flight to White Plains (Westchester County Airport) in New York state via Southern Pines (Moore County Airport) in North Carolina. The airline will serve this new route from Dallas, Texas.

JSX Air began operations on April 19th 2016 as JetSuite X, inheriting its current name and brand on August 8th 2019 as part of a company brand restructure. According to JSX Air CEO Alex Wilcox, the airline was created for a unique clientele for which the airline offers a private jet experience at the price of a standard airline ticket, with service aimed mainly at the short-haul business market which was in decline prior to the launch of JSX. Part of the airlines business model is also to allow clients a more swift experience at the airport, with passengers required to arrive only 20 minutes before departure. JSX is also unique in the fact that it operates out of its own private terminal at each of its ports of call.
JSX Air however has not been immune from the COVID-19 crisis with its parent company Superior Air Charter LLC filing for bankruptcy on April 28th 2020, due to a 90% drop in passenger loads due to COVID-19 related lockdowns in the USA which crippled business travel throughout the country. Despite the bleak outlook, JSX has continued operations throughout the pandemic, continuing to focus on its USA West Coast operations which largely comprises of routes not served by other passenger air carriers.
On 24th June 2020, JSX announced an expansion from its traditional West Coast operations in order to launch its first ever transcontinental route to the East Coast of the USA. The new route will operate from Dallas-Love Field Airport, Texas to Westchester County Airport, New York with a stopover in Moore County Airport, North Carolina. The new scheduled charter service will begin today on June 25th and operate as a "pop up route", meaning it will begin the route on short notice in response to seasonal demand. The route will be operated by the airlines fleet of Embraer 135 and Embraer 145 regional jets. JSX Air CEO Alex Wilcox stated the airline was looking forward to operating scheduled flights out of Dallas, the city where its headquarters are located.
In addition to the new route, JSX Air also recently launched "pop up routes" from Burbank and Santa Ana, California, to Monterey, California in order to add more flights during the busy summer season. CEO Alex Wilcox was also noted yesterday saying the airline has more plans to launch further new routes but could not be sure whether they would be launched due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
