Lufthansa has announced a repatriation flight from Mumbai on 7 and 9 June, 2020 to allow Germans to return home. Flight LH0757 is scheduled to depart from Mumbai at 2:25 am and arrive in Frankfurt at 7:50 am. Both flights will operate with an Airbus A330-300.
In a statement, the airline said: “Due to the enormous demand for relief flights, we endeavour to apply for further approvals on a weekly basis for departure on Thursday, Saturday and Monday morning ex Mumbai with the same flight number and departure times."
The flights are already being displayed on the airline's website, operated by an Airbus A330-300.
Passengers interested must check travel eligibility based on the criteria given and on the regulations mentioned on the respective country’s regulatory website. The airline also added that passengers are personally responsible to comply with the regulations and must also check transit regulations for Germany, where applicable.
As of yet, Lufthansa has transported nearly 43,000 passengers back to Germany on board more than 150 repatriation flights. Some of these services are extremely unique. For example, on 26 March, Lufthansa operated a service to Auckland with a Boeing 747-400 making it the first time Lufthansa has flown to New Zealand.
