Malaysia Airlines Suspends 737 MAX Deliveries

Kuala Lumpur-based Malaysia Airlines has deferred deliveries for it's Boeing 737 MAX aircraft as a result of a lack of clarity on when the aircraft will indeed be allowed return to service.

Malaysia Airlines has outstanding orders for a total of 25 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, comprising 15 737 MAX 8s and 10 737 MAX 10s.

This year the airline was expecting to receive 5 Boeing 737 MAX’s. The airline placed the order back in 2016, worth USD5.5 billion at list prices. Originally the airline was due to receive it's first 737 MAX in July 2020 although that date has indeed been pushed back. What's to come for the 737 MAX is uncertain as Boeing continues it's efforts to gain recertification for it's troubled plane.
