As of 1st March 2020, sweeping changes will take place at Václav Havel Airport Prague. At the moment, all flights dispatched from the airport's Terminal 1 are designated to non-Schengen countries. Due to a reconstruction of the baggage sorting center, Prague Airport will move most of the check-in counters of most airlines to Terminal 2.
Airlines have already begun informing passengers about the move on their respective websites. Furthermore, Emirates has already sent an email about the move to travel agencies.
The changes will last until the end of August 2020. Passengers will have to check in at Terminal 2, then go through the public section to Terminal 1, where they will go through passport and security checks.
Prague Airport is preparing an information campaign about the changes and will release further information in early February. Prague Airport spokeswoman Kateřina Pavlíková said:“As a result of the reconstruction of the baggage sorting facility at Terminal 1, two check-in piers will be closed in March. For this reason, passengers on selected flights from Terminal 1 will be temporarily checked in at Terminal 2. The entire operational provision is currently being finalized.”
The move will affect 23 carriers, key among them being easyJet, British Airways, Qatar Airways, Korean Air, American Airlines and United Airlines.
