Taking place from 11 Feb 2020 until 16 Feb 2020, the biennial Singapore Airshow is an event, aviation companies and enthusiasts will never want to miss. The Singapore Airshow is Asia's largest airshow in Asia with over 1000 companies exhibiting and taking part in the airshow. Here is what you can expect for this year's airshow.
During the airshow, there are many programs lined up for you to check out but the two main attractions that many of us would be looking forward are the aircraft static and flying display.
Static Display
The static display is something you may be looking forward to. Visitors could get up close with the impressive array of military aircraft and civilian aircraft. This year, here are 3 aircraft that will be on static display, that you may be interested in.
1. Piaggio Aero P180 Avanti Evo
The Piaggio P180 may look weird to you at first but wait till you find out more about the P180. The P180 is one of the smartest aircraft flying in our skies. One look at the design of the aircraft and you will realize that the aircraft has a unique backwards-facing piston engine. The P180 is also known to be one of the most fuel-efficient aircraft and is the fastest turboprop engine plane. Not every day do you get to see the P180, making it something you should check out.
2. USAF E-2D Advanced Hawkeye
Besides commercial aircraft, there are some awesome military aircraft that you want to check out! The United States Air Force (USAF) An E-2D Hawkeye will feature new avionics suites including new APY-9 rade, radio suite, mission computer, integrated satellite communications and many other contemporary features like glass cockpits. The E-2D is a unique looking Airborne Early Warning (AEW) aircraft because of the radar placed on top of the aircraft, thus this plane is something you should not miss out.
3. Airbus A330 MRTT
Showcasing at this year airshow, the Republic of the Singapore Air Force (RSAF) latest equipment the Airbus A330 Multi-Role Tanker Transport. The A330MRTT has the capability of carrying passengers and has the capability of mid-air refuelling. This is something you definitely not want to miss!

Flying Display
At the Changi Aviation Park Staging Ground, there will be a flying display for those who are not interested in the static display. The flying display will take place from 11.30 am - 12.10 pm and 2.30 pm - 3.10 pm during the Public Days of the airshow. Here is what you can expect:
1. Republic of the Singapore Air Force (RSAF)
Starting off the flying display would be the RSAF F15SG showing off the agility of the F15SG to the audiences by performing jaw-dropping maneuvers at the Changi Exhibition Centre. The RSAF will also show off their Boeing AH-64D Apache, Equipped with state of the art sensors, the AH-64D has significant systems to improve combat survivability.
2. China's People Liberation Army Air Force Aerobatic Team (Ba Yi)
Joining the airshow at the very last minute, the Chinese Air Force Aerobatic Team, Ba Yi, is performing at the Singapore Airshow for the very first time. Their participation has shocked many aviation enthusiasts and we are all eager to see Ba Yi J10s perform a series of aerobatic maneuvers above Singapore skies.
3. The United States Air Force (USAF)
For the very first time, the USAF will be showing off to the crowd in Singapore their Boeing F-16C Fighting Falcon, Boeing F-22A Raptor and Boeing F-35B Lightning II. But what exactly is keeping us excited for this year USAF flying display is their B-52 Stratofortress. Equipped with six engines, the Stratofortress is a long-range, heavy bomber that can perform a variety of missions. The Stratofortress is a must-see at this year airshow.
4. China People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF)
Surprising many aviation enthusiasts, China PLAAF aerobatic team, Ba Yi will be performing in Singapore after careful and thorough consideration. Using their J-10AY, China's Ba Yi team will perform a series of stunts and turns that will leave you in awe.
Be sure to catch the spectacular line-up flying display that will definitely leave you in awe by the swashbuckling maneuvers and aerobatic performance by the flying display team.
Unfortunately, due to the Corona Virus outbreak, 17 exhibitors including Gulfstream, Bombardier, and Textron Aviation have pulled out of the Singapore Airshow. The Singapore Airshow Aviation Leadership Summit has also been cancelled. The summit involved 300 aviation leaders, including government officials, civil aviation authorities, airport operators and airline executives.
The Republic of the Korean Air Force (ROKAF) aerobatic team, ROKAF Black Eagles, has also announced their withdrawal from the airshow on their Facebook, Instagram and Twitter page.
Besides the ROKAF withdrawal from the Singapore Airshow, the Indonesian Air Force Jupiter Aerobatic Team (JAT) has also withdrawn from the Singapore Airshow. Not making their withdrawal known to the public, the Indonesian Air Force Headquarter has asked for the crew to return to Jakarta. The team arrived in Batam on the 4 Feb 2020 and return back to Jakarta Halim on the 6 Feb 2020.
All the exhibitors, companies and flying display team that withdraw from the airshow all mentioned that they withdraw for the safety of their staff and personnel.

Despite the outbreak of the Coronavirus, Experia Events, organizer of the Singapore Airshow announced that the Airshow will continue to take place. The airshow schedule is not affected.
