SWISS Completes A340 Cabin Refurbishment

SWISS International Airlines has finished refurbishing it’s Airbus A340 fleet. All aircraft now feature a standardised interior as well as internet access.

The aircraft now feature the same interior as the airline’s Boeing 777s, including First, Business and Economy class cabins. Furthermore, the Airbus A340s now feature a new inflight entertainment system and internet connectivity.

SWISS operates a fleet of five Airbus A340s which operate to select destination from it's Zurich hub. This includes to Boston, Johannesburg and Shanghai as well as to Osaka in Japan when the route launches on March 1.

SWISS Chief Commercial Officer Tamur Goudarzi Pour said: “With the completion of our Airbus A340 cabin refurbishment programme we are further underlining our quality commitment, and now offer all our customers the same premium air travel experience, including inflight internet connectivity, on all our long-haul flights.”

As mentioned, SWISS operates a fleet of five Airbus A340-300s, all of which were delivered in 2003 or 2004. These are: HB-JMA, HB-JMB, HB-JMC, HB-JMH and HB-JMI. SWISS also operates the Airbus A340’s sister, the A330. The carrier has 14 in service.
