The code-share has already allowed passengers to redeem and earn Club Vistara and United Mileage Plus since the beginning of February 2020. United will be applying their call-signs on 68 Vistara flights every day to 26 domestic destinations to Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bengaluru, Chennai, Goa, Pune and many more. This codeshare will also allow seamless connections from the US into domestic Vistara flights.

"The US continues to be one of the biggest source markets for foreign travellers into India and the region, and this partnership allows us to provide a seamless travel offering for customers to and from the United States," Vistara Chief Commercial Official Vinod Kannan said in a release.

John Gebo, Senior Vice-President (Alliances) at United Airlines said, "We are excited to offer our shared customers the option of building a seamless itinerary when planning travel to cities beyond New Delhi and Mumbai."

Apart from United Airlines. Vistara has also code-shared with Lufthansa, British Airways, Japan Airlines and of course Singapore Airlines.

Vistara is currently expanding extensively. Only last year they started flying to foreign destinations and are expecting their first Boeing 787-9 wide-body aircraft. This aircraft will not only be the first wide-body in Vistara’s fleet, but also the first Boeing 787-9 of India. Air India owns the shorter 787-8 version of the aircraft.

United Airlines flies daily to Mumbai(BOM/VABB) and New Delhi(DEL/VIDP) from Newark Liberty International Airport(EWR/KEWR), and daily from San Francisco(SFO/KSFO) to New Delhi.
