While rumors may have suggested otherwise last year, American Airlines will not be taking over part of British Airways' operation between London Heathrow and Washington Dulles.
After American Airlines announced it would be transferring its Miami to London Heathrow operations over to partner British Airways, it was believed that the opposite would occur on the London to Washington route, with American taking over the Boeing 747 operation by British Airways.
Citing a source, a report by Gary Leff from View From The Wing said that this was no longer on the table - British Airways would keep its existing wide-body services on the route.
